We have used the nanosphere lithography (NSL), a simple method to obtain distinct structures of varying distance at the nanoscale, and the layer-by-layer (LbL) technique, a method to introduce chemical heterogeneity, to design a novel system for mimicking the topographical and chemical characteristics of cell origins for controlled adhesion and growth of tissue cells.
